Meet our administrative team

JoAnn Browne is a native of San Antonio, Texas and has worked for many years with the Baptist Health System as a registered nurse in the operating room. Since forming Speed-E’z, she has been providing after-hours service for a very large percentage of the physicians and medical-related businesses in San Antonio and the surrounding area. Mrs. Browne serves her community as the Youth Service & Literacy Officer for the Northwest Rotary Club and is the Youth Director for St. Anthony’s Catholic High School Interact Club.

Lauren Garza is a wife and mother to two beautiful girls. Her mother, JoAnn Browne, started this business when she was just 14.  When Lauren turned 16 in 1996, she started working part-time as an operator on the evening shift. In 1998, Lauren decided to work full-time and was promoted to supervisor in 2001.  Since 2005, she has been the operations manager where she has been successful in putting into place many policies and protocol changes that have helped make Speed-E’z a top-notch answering service.  Lauren also oversees all account programming and serves as an account representative for many of our clients. After spending 14 years with Speed-E’z, she says she cannot see herself at any other company.

Nathan Fowler has been with Speed-E’z since January 2004.  He entered the family business as an operator and then became a supervisor of the evening shift, moving up to administration in 2007. Some of his current responsibilities include billing and payroll, and in addition, Nathan is the operations manager of Speed-E’z Courier Service.

Carrie Palacios has been with Speed-E’z since October of 2003.  She began as an evening operator and, within her first year, was promoted to a morning supervisor. During the past couple of years, Carrie has transitioned into the position of new programming and updates for many of our accounts. Originally from Harlingen, Texas, Carrie moved to San Antonio in the summer of 1989. She joined Speed-E’z after spending several years as an optical lab technician. Although Carrie tried going back to the Rio Grande Valley once, San Antonio beckoned again, and we are happy she returned. Carrie is a 35-year-old single mom raising two very active boys.

Teresa Paige, a 39-year-old widow and  mother of three started with Speed-E’z in May of 1994 as an operator, but was quickly promoted to supervisor. She left the company in 1999 to work with mentally-challenged individuals.  Then, after expanding her family, Teresa returned to Speed-E’z in August of 2005 without missing a beat! We like to say Teresa wears many hats at Speed-E’z—quality manager, trainer, on-call specialist and counselor, on some occassions. "Speed-Ez is my second family! I’ve watched Mrs. Browne, her company, and her children blossom over the years,” Teresa says. “I really love my job!”
